Welcome To BrailleOrch And Open Braille Music Projects

Acknowledgements

The BrailleOrch and Open Braille Music projects and this website can’t be successfully launched and run without a lot of people’s help.

  • First, the team Shanyou Chou and the Xiangyun Charity Foundation of Wuxi helped me to make crowd funding to engrave scores which can be converted into braille, and provide the initial fund of website building. Thank these two organizations and all people who donated for the project!
  • I’ll also thank Chen Jing and DIng Pengyu, who helped me on website building.
  • Thank my parents for supporting my work.
  • Thank Prof. Gotoh Toshiyuki from Yokohama University, Japan. Without his wonderful BrailleMuse can’t I do any braille music transcription tasks in such a high speed and quality.
  • Thank Sarah Morley Wilkins, Arne Kyrkjebo and DAISY Consortium, who launched DAISY Music Braille Project. This project gives me a chance to work with the most skilled software developers to enhance the current automated braille music transcription technology.
  • Thank Christina Davidson, the American braille music transcriber, who helped me on transcribing some scores.
  • Thank the UK publisher, Scores Reformed, who is willling to provide me their products for me to transcribe into braille.
  • Thank Dafeng Score Office (China), Music Engraving (Russia), Mike Nelson, Derek John Benton and other engravers who are helping me to produce music scores in Sibelius and Musescore formats, for me to transcribe more and more high-quality scores into braille.
  • Thank all other publishers and living composers who are willing to provide their sources for me to transcribe into braille.
